Over the past year, KSCI has been on a journey to renew and strengthen its governance. Through our Transitional Board Project, four new members joined four returning directors to form a team committed to learning together—clarifying responsibilities, building transparency, and setting the foundation for lasting impact.
We’ve introduced a secure Board Portal, implemented new tools and templates, and developed a board calendar to track key oversight duties. Just as importantly, we’re creating space for honest conversations, centering inclusion, and ensuring our leadership reflects the community we serve.
“Regularly reviewing financials is essential to understanding the organization’s standing… This opportunity allows me to apply my strategic planning skills and gain valuable insight into nonprofit governance.”
— Santhosh Kumar Mariyala, MBA, KSCI Board Member
Good governance might not always be visible—but it’s what makes real, lasting impact possible. When a board is confident, informed, and values-aligned, it creates the conditions for staff, families, and individuals served to thrive.
