Community Support Worker

The Community Support Worker offers person-centered support to individuals, promoting autonomy, inclusion, and independence across all areas of life. Working directly with individuals in the community and in collaboration with their families, they support goal setting, regularly review progress, and adjust support plans as needed. This role includes accompanying individuals into the community to connect them to social, educational, and employment opportunities, while also helping to build life skills and foster natural support networks. Community Support Workers play a key role in ensuring each individual’s health and safety, including responding appropriately to emergencies, all with the aim of enhancing overall quality of life.

Residential Worker

The Residential Worker plays a vital role in supporting KSCI’s mission by assisting individuals with daily living activities in their homes and fostering independence, community inclusion, and access to local resources. Responsibilities include helping with tasks such as meal preparation, lifts and transfers, personal hygiene, and other essential routines. Residential Workers advocate for individuals to understand and exercise their rights while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and standards. They also contribute to assessments, goal setting, and program planning, while maintaining accurate and respectful documentation to support each individual’s growth, well-being, and quality of life.

Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator works closely with the Community Inclusion Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Community Support program. This role involves planning and delivering service activities and community events, ensuring support is in place, organizational policies are followed, and service standards are consistently met. The Program Coordinator also helps promote public awareness and support for KSCI by creating promotional materials and representing the organization at community events.

Employment Counselor

The Employment Counselor is responsible for assessing the interests, skills, abilities, and job readiness of individuals served, and supporting them in finding and maintaining meaningful employment. This role involves identifying suitable job opportunities, providing guidance on skill development related to job search and retention, and offering personalized support throughout the employment process. The Employment Counselor also works closely with employers, providing orientation and education to ensure successful workplace integration and ongoing support for both the individual and the employer. They stay up to date on local employment trends and opportunities to effectively match individuals with roles that align with their goals and abilities.

Outeach Worker

The Outreach Worker provides individualized support to help people live independently and confidently in their homes and communities. Working directly in individuals’ homes, they teach essential life skills such as personal grooming, cooking, housekeeping, money management, and shopping. In addition to supporting daily living, Outreach Workers assist with employment, recreation, and personal development, all with the goal of enhancing overall quality of life. They help individuals set and work toward personal goals, accompany them to appointments, and foster meaningful community connections by identifying supportive people and places. Guided by a strong commitment to self-determination, Outreach Workers follow the individual’s lead on how they wish to engage with their community. This role requires flexibility to adapt to the unique and evolving needs of each person served.

Job Developer

The Job Developer supports individuals in achieving their employment and daily living goals through personalized support plans, skill development, and community engagement. This role involves working closely with individuals, their families, community partners, and employers to promote inclusion and independence both in the workplace and in daily life. The Job Developer researches and connects with local businesses and organizations to create employment opportunities that align with each person’s goals. They design and implement individualized employment plans focused on job readiness, pre-employment skills, and daily living activities, while also providing on-site training and coaching. Ongoing support is offered to both individuals and employers to ensure successful job placements, and participation in community activities is encouraged to enhance social inclusion.
