Outreach Services at KSCI provide flexible, individualized support for people who choose to live independently but benefit from assistance in daily life.
Outreach Services
Rooted in our philosophy and Theory of Change, this service walks alongside individuals as they define and pursue a life that reflects their values, preferences, and goals.
Outreach is about more than daily tasks—it’s about building capacity, confidence, and meaningful connection. We recognize that independence looks different for everyone. Our role is to witness, support, and empower each person’s journey, whether that includes navigating health care, managing a home, connecting socially, or learning new life skills.
What support may include:
- Daily living skills like meal planning, budgeting, or home organization
- Attend medical appointments or manage health-related tasks
- Building routines that reflect the person’s goals and lifestyle
- Facilitating social connection and community participation
- Help individuals exercise self-determination and decision-making
- Supporting transitions such as moving, life changes, or growing autonomy
- Medication management and oversight
Eligibility Criteria
Individuals may participate if they:
- Are 19 years or older
Reside in Kamloops - Wish to live independently and direct their own support
- Require assistance to manage daily living or participate in community life
- Are approved for CLBC funding
Referral Process
Referrals are made by Community Living BC. Participation is voluntary and always grounded in informed choice.
